For a fact, marketing has been brought to Vietnam since France colonization; the remaining concepts about the catchy outdoor billboards and ‘exaggerated’ slogans on newspapers are the main proof of this country’s initial marketing stages. Nevertheless, the marketing concept is still far from Vietnamese enterprises before 2000, and almost all of the professional marketing strategies belong to multinational companies or joint-venture ones. This story was shifted in 2000-2007 when the industries witnessed many local brands start to build marketing strategies for their products or services with more robust and effective identities in customers’ minds. Since then, the market has become more dynamic between the battlefield of winning segments; this is also an essential milestone of the marketing industry development with an average growth of 50% per year and the increasing number of new qualified Vietnamese marketers.
