Originally Shipp Shape Television and Film Productions, Shipp Shape provided creative solutions for advertising and media revenue development for agencies with experience both regionally and nationally. Starting with small studio and field production jobs within the Gannett Television umbrella in commercial television production. Clients varied from local to national agencies to car dealerships and sporting events. In 1986, Shipp Shape diversified creating a media and publishing consulting company, Targeted Media with a local radio personality Tony Brown. Targeted Media was created to fulfill a need for Arizona minority demographic business representation with a product that was then and is still known as the Arizona Black Pages. Targeted was responsible for the City of Phoenix, two major Cinco De Mayo events in the valley, two minority-owned car dealerships and every aspect of the first Martin Luther King Holiday Celebration for the State of Arizona. The event included all of the creative design, branding, marketing, advertising, public relations, media buying, major sponsors recruitment like Pepsi Cola and Citibank, and of course talent like Stevie Wonder (Who wrote the famous Birthday song the night before) and Rosa Parks. Sold to Desmond Peartree in 1991, the growth of mainstream clients and movement beyond publishing required a change for Shipp Shape.
